What experience does Converge have in deliverying EAP services?
History and Experience
Founded in 1960, Converge International (Converge) is one of Australia’s leading mental health providers. With a proud heritage spanning 60 years, Converge has developed a rich understanding of Commonwealth, State and Territory Government organisations.
We have a strong history in working with government entities and are the current provider for ACT Whole of Government, along with Department of Defence and Australia Post, who both have a presence in the NT. We also partner with large national commercial businesses such as Coles, Endeavour Group, and Bunnings, providing EAP and related wellbeing services Australia wide, including their NT locations.
Some relationships with our customer partners span more than a decade, and we have worked closely with teams at all levels to provide EAP and related services such as critical incident support, mental health and wellbeing training, senior executive coaching and support, change management and career transition support, and psychosocial risk solutions. We have also provided consultancy services, including assisting commercial clients and government departments in developing their Aboriginal and LGBTI employee strategies and developing targeted promotional material to support these initiatives.
Throughout our ever-evolving partnerships, we have supported our government partners through significant challenge and change including electoral cycles and major machinery of government transformation. From proactive support during pandemics, disasters, terrorist attacks, and significant events, our high-trust relationships have allowed us to work sensitively to deliver discreet, dependable, and reputable wellbeing support.
Breadth of Resourcing
Converge’s comprehensive infrastructure provides convenient EAP access across Australia. We work with many customers with geographically diverse workforces, improving EAP utilisation in regional locations. We have the most comprehensive office network of any provider with over 1,900 EAP professionals Australia wide. Should we be appointed as part of a panel arrangement, these resources can be utilised to support your workforces with extensive telehealth/online service coverage, local presence in key locations, and the ability to deploy staff from other areas to deliver services face to face if required.
Safe and Fair Work Record
Converge has an excellent record of providing a safe and fair workplace. We recognise the importance of a diverse workforce to represent the variety and range of our client organisations. We are committed to a work culture that respects individual differences and promotes equality and diversity at all levels of the organisation. We do this by considering diversity within all areas of our business, most importantly with recruitment, flexible work arrangements, succession planning and retention of staff.
In accordance with our Workplace Behaviour policy and our Code of Conduct, Converge International is committed to keeping the workplace free of inappropriate conduct, discrimination (including indirect discrimination) and harassment (including bullying, victimisation and vilification). While working onsite at client organisations, our representatives are expected to familiarise themselves with workplace culture, etiquette, and protocols to ensure their conduct as a representative of Converge International is appropriate and consistent with the client’s workplace culture, as well as our internal Workplace Behaviour policy.
Standard and Quality of Services
Converge has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 for the provision of consulting in human resources and psychological services. Our entire operation is guided and managed by the policies, principles and procedures of this quality management system.
Converge is a level one member of the Employee Assistance Professional Association of Australasia (EAPAA) and as such abides by their code of ethics and the Australian Standards Guidelines. Our Director of Consulting, Lana Schwartz, is the current EAPAA President.
History of delivering on commitments/performance
As the preferred provider to hundreds of federal, state and local government organisations across Australia, Converge has proven experience supporting government organisations develop meaningful programs that make a difference to their people.
Converge generally performs highly, meeting the required KPIs for the majority of contracts and maintaining favourable customer satisfaction rates. We have had no contracts terminate due to poor performance or failure to deliver on contract terms. We work quickly and collaboratively to resolve any issues that may arise. For example, we had one instance of a failed KPI, which was impacted by resourcing in remote locations in Tasmania. Converge was on self-imposed PIP and invested in resources, re-built out relationship via key stakeholders, and was subsequently able to retain the contract with no changes to the agreement. This customer is still with us today.
Overall, Converge has successfully and repeatedly demonstrated an impressive track record of clinical governance and fulfilment of rigorous KPI’s, including employee and customer satisfaction, engagement and wellbeing uplift. Our recent data demonstrates that Converge is tracking with an adjusted response time KPI of 99.7%, evidencing our ability to deliver services as required, with an EAP satisfaction rate of 85%.
Enhancing local, economic and community outcomes
Converge is majority owned by The Different Co (previously Reventure Ltd), a registered charity based in Victoria. Among other activities, The Different Co engages in workplace research to improve the mental health of Australian workers. The Different Co and McCrindle, have joined forces to create Mainstreet Insights, who provide insights to build flourishing communities. From family and relationships to education, faith, wellbeing and work, it is a collection of timely insights that speaks to important community conversations to enable leaders to make informed decisions.
Converge International is a thought leader and active contributor to public debate in the area of workplace mental health. We actively contribute data to both the EAP industry’s peak body EAPAA and more broadly through the broadcast media on mental health prevalence and mental health and wellbeing. The majority of our profits are reinvested in public and community benefit.
The work of Converge impacts directly on the communities in which we deliver services, which include disadvantaged Australians. By providing access to resources and mental health support and engaging with local provider networks, Converge reaches a broader audience than just the employees of our customer organisations.
Further, our proposal to deliver this contract as sole provider, if accepted by NTG, is poised to deliver significant community benefits for NT regions, in terms of local economic investment via the recruitment and the establishment of a network of state-wide EAP professionals, strengthening mental health services and options for on the ground support, wherever your workforces are located.
Working in Partnership/Communication
Converge offers a true collaborative wellbeing partnership with our experienced relationship management team including a Partnership Manager, Jonathan Ashby, who will be supported by our leadership and executive team, and the broader organisation.
This includes access to clinical leaders and subject matter experts skilled in developing and adapting services for maximum wellbeing impact across our customer organisations, an operations team to ensure appropriate resourcing throughout the project, and team of analytics specialists offering advanced reporting capability to measure utilisation, identify and track trends, and provide meaningful insights regarding engagement and outcomes.
