Our employee is currently seeing a psychologist. Can they see them through EAP?
If the psychologist is not currently with us as an associate, they would need to be onboarded with Converge. That being said, we aren’t able to accommodate bringing a consultant onboard for seeing a specific individual and here are some things we need to consider:
EAP is a short-term support framework with 3-6 sessions; therefore, it might not be suitable for consultants who have been providing long-term support/treatment to their clients.
Clients are not typically able to request to see a specific consultant. If a client does request a specific consultant, additional approval and review is required.
As we prioritise our Employee consultants that work in our Offices in the first instance and lean on our Associate Network as a secondary pool, we are not able to guarantee that this client will be referred to this psychologist. Associates coming onboard at Converge are expected to receive general referrals.
In the case of referring our clients to associates, we consider the location and the reason for the referral and preference low-cost appointments first. When the rate is above our standard threshold, additional approval is required.
We pay associates at the rate they agree to in full, there isn’t splitting bill or going through a rebate program. If the rate an Associate agrees to is $100 per session, then we pay $100 per session (including Super depending on their business type) for instance. If the clinic’s standard/proposed rate is $295 per session, that is okay; however, we wouldn’t onboard them due to reasons above and that the opportunity of them receiving referrals is nearly zero as our system preferences low-cost appointments first and the average rate is $90 - $120 per session.
